My father and mother, both musicians, immigrated to the Netherlands for its famous early music scene. My father would travel to France with his baroque ensemble as a student and in return for their concerts, he got a spot at the local camping site (oh the glamour of being a musician) where he and my mom would spend their holidays with my sister and me. For as long as I can remember, our house has been filled with early music. One of the reasons I was drawn to the Royal Conservatory was its wonderful early music department. The Grand Hotel Sessions with professor Brown rekindled my love for historical playing and I'm glad to play in wonderful orchestras and ensembles with historical instruments.
